Presidential Computing

The New York Times is running an article about Obama and his Blackberry, and how he’ll most likely have to give up the gadget.

This is news to me, but I guess on second thought it makes sense, sort of. The article also mentions that Obama is planning to work some technology into the oval office, such as a laptop computer. I’ve read some other articles debating whether Obama might consider using an open source laptop. Wouldn’t that be interesting? If the White House cares about security, I would expect them to want to him to use an open source laptop, or at least a Macintosh, which is partly open source.
